So it is no big secret that Wednesday is Christmas Eve. Wednesday also means another 9RUN6 Wednesday Workout, but with it being the season of giving we want to be able to serve others around us who might not be so fortunate.
Yes 9RUN6 is about fitness, but in the name itself it is word play of 916 representing where we are from and what we are proud of. We are proud of the city of Sacramento and that means taking care of this city that we have come to love so much and the people within it.
The workout on Wednesday (12/24) is going to be a different type of workout. It will be a workout based on giving to those around us. I am asking that people bring things that they don’t mind passing along to homeless people or those in need around the Downtown Sacramento.
Here are the details for Wednesday’s workout: We will meet at 6:25AM at the west steps of the Capitol like we always do. At that point we will bring with us anything you might be willing to donate to the event (old race shirts, food, gloves, hats, whatever). We will run along Capitol Mall towards the River Walk / Old Sacramento looking for people who are cuddled up on benches and around trees where they normally stay, we will give them something to keep them warm or to eat during Christmas Eve. We will then continue down and around J Street and L Street. It will be an all running workout on Wednesday we may break up into groups depending on the turnout.
If you have any suggestions on how to better this Giving Back Workout please leave it in the comments section below. This is all about giving back to the city that we have taken pride in representing with the 9RUN6.
