For someone who has completed over 700 straight days of running in my running streak and logging over 6,000+ miles over the course of my current streak, I know the value of recovery related tools like rollers and such. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to the Addaday Ultra Roller Plus series C.
From the moment I received the roller, I immediately tested it out and started using it as my only source of rolling. Right away I noticed the medium firmness of the “gears” attached to the stick. This particular roller has three large gears to hit those larger muscles groups. I targeted the hamstring, quads, IT Bands, calves and spent most of my time on my gracilis muscle since that is what has recently been the area causing me some flare ups during my non-running time.
I then tested out the smaller gear (red) to target the achilies and plantar, which were very easy to reach and provided me the massage therapy that I needed in those specific areas.
The biggest benefit outside of the actual massaging that is provides, is that the Addady Ultra Roller Plus series C does have multiple size gears for various muscles, I can only worry about packing one massage tool when traveling or waiting for me in my gear check bag.
I loved this so much I even included it in my “marathon survival kit” as noted in my appearance on Good Day Sacramento in the video clip below.
