The challenge was thrown out there to try to get 30 people at today’s workout, we didn’t exactly get that, but it was still AWESOME! We welcomed some new faces this morning to the Wednesday workout group, in hopes that they become regular faces at 6:25AM on the west steps of the Capitol building.
After the hellos, high-fives and early morning banter had been exchanged the group started with our typical 5 minute warm-up around the west lawn of the Capitol, which we had to resort to a different loop due to leaf blower dude that had to get his dirt blowing on. Nonetheless, we kept at it and the warm-up was now complete. We then started the 50 to 5 workout, which incorporates a lot of jumping jacks, push ups, squats and crunches.
With the liquid awesome pouring out all over the west steps, the group finished up with a five minute cool down to end the workout. Some folks stuck around to paint their swag they brought in, while others shuffled away quickly to get to work.
The group clearly earned their right to throw down their tofurkey, potatoes and vegetarian gravy tomorrow. Many of the members will be partaking in some sort of turkey day trot to start off their Thursday.
