Hey look there’s a big tree in the area that we workout. Who cares, that just means we gotta make our warm-up loops a little bigger around it. The tree that stood 65 feet tall in our area is the Christmas Tree that will remain there for 8 weeks on the West Steps Lawn of the Capitol building. With our first post Day Light Savings workout in the books, it was nice to get out there and finish up with the sun already out. I am sure all of those in the group appreciated not being blinded by me shining my head lamp directly into their faces during a workout.
Anyways, the group came saw and conquered today’s morning workout. We saw this same workout a few weeks ago, which really challenged us. The workout called #theBEAR, because of it’s fierce movements, includes three rounds with a 5 minute run inserted between each of them. Each round progressively gets harder as one or two movements are added onto those before it. Each round all included jump ropes, high knees, butt kickers, jumping jacks, then added on burpees, push-ups, tricep dips, and mountain climbers on the other 2 rounds.
With repeating workouts individuals were able to see their own strength develop based on how they felt after the workout, a few weeks back, this workout was hard and exhausting, to a point where some struggled to get to that last set and final 5 minute run. Today, everyone felt good all the way through with still feeling a bit of a challenge through it all.
