So this morning we showed up on the dark West Steps of the Capitol Building in Downtown Sacramento. A group of brave souls that come to workout, without knowing the workout. This morning we started off with a little 3 loop warm-up run to get the spirits up and the blood moving.
After an explanation of the workout it was GAME ON! Today’s workout involved a deck of cards, push-ups, sit-ups and squats. Each person ran a 1/10 of a mile loop around the front of the West Steps, upon their return awaited a deck of cards, with each pull of the card our workout started. The number or face card (representing 11) would determine how many push-ups, sit-ups and squats each person would do. This was repeated for a total of 10 times! Each set would be a different number going as little as 2 of each exercise to as many as 11.
With 10 rounds completed, the cards weren’t done yet. We finished off with 6 rounds of low card war. Everyone picked a card from the deck, and the lowest half of cards didn’t have to do the burpees. While on the other side of the table the top half of cards had to do the number equal to the highest card pulled from the deck, sometimes it was a 8 and other times it was a King (11 burpees) :)!
After the sweat dripped and the fun was had everyone split their separate ways to start their Wednesday.
