Fit Friday: Goal Check

As we enter the final quarter of the year, I like to examine my goals and see what I have completed or am close to reaching by the end of the year. Back in December 2012, I announced my 2013 goals. Three goals which were measurable, attainable, but still challenging.

The three goals were:

  1. Run a Personal Best in the marathon distance (run faster than 3:32:08)
  2. Run five marathons in 2013
  3. Run everyday in 2013

Let’s see where I am at this point with a little under 3 months remaining in 2013. So far I have ran 3 marathons under my 3:32:08 with times of 3:11 at the LA Marathon in March, 3:09:21 (current PB) at the SF Marathon in June, and a 3:13 at the Ventura Marathon in September.

In regards to my running 5 marathons in 2013, I am still in track having already completed 4 races at the 26.2-mile distance. In 2013, I have ran the Asics LA Marathon, the Big Sur International Marathon, the Wipro San Francisco Marathon, and the Ventura Marathon. I also completed an endurance event in July where I covered 39.75 miles at the Brazen Dirty Half Dozen 6-Hour Endurance Run.

For my running streak 2013, I have ran all 276 days in 2013. Since January 1st, I have covered 2630.83 miles. This might be my most difficult task due to the fact that I need to make sure that I stay healthy for the course of the final months of the year.

How are your 2013 goals going? Are you on track to meet the items you challenged yourself with at the beginning of the year? Which is your most challenging goal you are trying to achieve?
