Skechers GOrun 2 Giveaway!

Since mid-March I have been running exclusively in various shoes from the Skechers Performance line courtesy of the friendly folks at Skechers who provided me the shoes to test out and review. During this time I have totaled over 1,270 miles in the GOrun 2, GOrun Meb speed, GObionic Ride and GObionic Trail.

Wearing Skechers started off as a “let’s give them a try”, test them out and provide a review of them. However, I quickly became a fan of Skechers shoes as the more I ran in them, the more I found comfort in the shoes. With that comfort came more consistent training, resulting in better race day times. Each shoe has provided me various highlights in the last few months.

The GOrun Meb speed which is my favorite racing shoe has helped me run my personal best in the marathon at the Wipro San Francisco Marathon (3:09:21), along with my 2nd and 3rd fastest half marathon times (1:27:23 and 1:28:05). The GOrun Meb speed has also helped me run quality speed, interval and marathon pace workouts. The GOrun Meb speed has accumulated a total of 431.5 miles at this point.

The GObionic Ride which was saved mostly for short recovery runs also has seen it’s race day success. This particular shoe helped me run my second fastest 10 mile race with a time of 1:06:00 at the Credit Union SACTOWN 10-mile run. The GObionic Ride has kept strong with a total of 253 miles on them.

While looking to incorporate more trail running into my workouts, I was then introduced and provided a pair of the GObionic Trail. I was able to complete my first ultra distance in the GObionic Trail, finishing 5th overall in the Dirty Half Dozen 6 Hour Endurance Run (39.75 miles in 6 hours). The GObionic Trail also was used when I paced a friend for the final 20 miles of the Western States 100-mile Endurance Run. My feet have been kept safe on the trails with the GObionic Trail as I have ventured a total of 104.9 miles in them.

Out of all of the shoes that were provided to me the best all around shoe has to be the GOrun 2. With 476.2 miles on the shoe, they have been taken through various terrains and survived them all. My first 26.2 distance in the shoe was at the Big Sur International Marathon, where the shoe gave me comfort throughout the entire paved road race. Along with Big Sur the GOrun 2 was used at the Capital City Classic 10-mile run where I ran a personal best in the 10-mile distance with a time of 1:05:42. The GOrun 2 had some pacing duties in them while pacing a friend to a sub 9 hour at the American River 50-mile Endurance Run.

Of course shoes alone won’t make you faster or train harder, but it is easier to do both when your feet are comfortable each and everyday you slip a good pair of shoes on. With that being said here is your chance to win a pair of the Skechers GOrun 2 and try them out for yourself.

  1. Chris,

I have not been very happy with my Saucony shoes, willing to try a different brand, definitely will give it a try. I guess I need to to their website to purchase the shoes, right?

  2. Currently running in the Saucony Guide 6. Really hard to dial in a pair of shoes to fit just right for me. Used to run the Guide 5 and they are perfect. Of course they changed the fit when they released the new version. Size 11 is way too small and 11.5 is way to big. Just don't get what shoe companies are trying to do.

  3. I currently run in the Saucony Mirage…similar to a Kinvara, but with some stability. Super light weights and only 4mm drop.
I had no Sketchers had a performance line. Would love to try them.

  4. I've been running in Nike Pegasus for 15 years, and I've been trying to find a lighter shoe to run marathons in. Last one I tried was the Adidas Adios. The race went well, but my feet paid the price. Sketchers GoRun looks like it would be a good fit.

  5. Currently enjoy running in my Newtons and Nike Lunarglides on pavement and my SKORAs on trails. I've wanted to try the GoRuns for a while, just cause Meb looks cool wearing them in all his ads, but have been iffy about actually purchasing them since I haven't been sure about the amount of support they provide.

  6. Already run in a pair of GoRun2s and find them to be very comfortable when running…but this pair won't last forever.

  7. I am always intrigued to try new shoes but hate taking the bullet and spending money when I'm not sure how it will go – this would be a great opportunity for the [poor] student to try a new brand! πŸ™‚

  8. My current shoe rotation includes a Saucony Kinvara 2, a Saucony Kinvara 3, New Balance Minimus and most recently the GoRun Meb Speed which I absolutely LOVE! Helped to a 10k PB during a triathlon. So am pretty happy πŸ™‚

  9. I use to the run in the NB Minimus Zeros until I was introduced to Skechers … now I wish I would have known about them from the beginning as the fit is better for me in the Skechers shoes. Good luck in the giveaway contest.
