Product Review & Giveaway: Energy Bits #poweredbybits

For those of you that have come across my tweets and instagram photos, you might have wondered what is that hashtag I place in every so often #poweredbybits. Over the last couple of months I have been using ENERGYbits before workouts and races. Now it is time to break it all down for a product review. Like anything I consume I like to give it some time before I give it a review to see if it works and other effects of it.

First impression – When I first received a sample of ENERGYbits, I was a bit thrown off by the taste of them. Yes, their taste is a bit strong but what can you expect when it is made of 100% Spirulina algea. I would recommend swallowing the bits whole with a glass of water. When I chewed the bits it left a greenish color in my mouth but went away after a quick sip of water.

First Use – When I first used ENERGYbits was actually not for a workout or race. One of the items they pride themselves in to be used when fatigued. After a long drive from Northern California to Southern California, I was feeling a bit sluggish, so I decided to pop about 30 bits into my mouth and consume some water. Within moments, I felt more refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the day.

First use before athletic event – Due to poor planning I failed to bring along my GU gels which I typically have consumed prior to running events. However, I did have about 1 more serving of ENERGYbits in my backpack. So I thought what the heck let’s give it a whirl for this race. It’s better to put something down than nothing at all considering I was running a half marathon. Through the run I felt like I had more energy through the run. I ran well that day as I ran a personal best in the half marathon distance at a time of 1:26:29.

Part of my routine – ENERGYbits is now part of my athletic routine. Everyday I wake up and head out the door it is one of the vital foods I consume before taking on the day’s workout or race. They are easy to bring with me, they power my days and for me the best part of it is that it isn’t a pill, it is real algae, which makes it a food.

A little more about the ENERGYbits from the http://www.energybits.com website:

ENERGYbits® algae tabs are your answer for raw energy and health. All naturally too. With just one calorie per tab, ENERGYbits® will stop your cravings, slay your hunger and give you a steady stream of energy all day or night. They may even make you want to leap over tall buildings in a single bound, but we think that’s best left to the guys in the red capes and blue tights.  Remarkably, our ENERGYbits® have just one ingredient, spirulina algae which is a super hero in the world of super foods. Spirulina’s nutritional pedigree is so impressive that The World Bank, NASA and Olympic athletes have all declared spirulina to be the most nutritious food in the entire world. Why? Well for starters, it effortlessly and naturally boosts your energy like an energy drink, energy bar or coffee  but without the downside of chemicals, caffeine, calories or sugar and gram per gram, there is no denser source of nutrition than spirulina algae. Research done by NASA showed that that 1 kg of spirulina had the nutritional  equivalent of 1000 kg of fruits and vegetables.  That’s a  lot of groceries! But if an endorsement by NASA isn’t enough to convince you of the health benefits you’ll get from our ENERGYbits® and spirulina, consider that many International Health Organizations including the United Nations have hailed spirulina as one of the “Greatest Superfoods on Earth.” Don’t worry if you haven’t heard about this super food yet. You will. It may be virtually unknown in America but for the last 50 years, millions worldwide have taken it to improve their energy. Now it’s your turn.

As one of their Brand Ambassadors, I can even offer you a discount of 20% on any purchase you make online. All you need to do is put the word ‘RUN4WILL‘ in the coupon box when you check out and the discount will be instantly applied. It work on all four of their algae brands (which are sold in bags of 1,000 tabs) and on all five websites www.energybits.com, www.skinnybits.com, www.recoverybits.com, www.vitalitybits.com and www.bitsofhealth.com. If you take the minimum of 30 tabs/day, a bag of 1,000 tabs will last you a month. It is recommend athletes take more because the more you take, the more energy you have and better you feel. BTW when you take algae every day, you can throw away all your other vitamins so algae not only saves you money, it simplifies your life!

I hope you try some soon! It’s never too early (or too late) to give yourself the gift of health. Let me know if you have any questions or visit them online at www.energybits.com and www.bitsofhealth.com for more information. Thanks!
