10 errr 9 …

Since I cannot run the Sac Town 10 tomorrow, I thought I would do my own 10 miler today. It was actually in the late afternoon when I got my run in. The route was a familiar route that I often run starting in my neighborhood heading towards CSU Sacramento and then looping around back towards my neighborhood. One thing that is clear during this run was that my afternoon runs are definitely not as good as my morning runs. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that I was on my legs during most of the day while working that morning, or plan out and simple my body is familiar to the routine of get up and run and that is what it knows. Another factor that comes in is that, sometimes my consumption of calories occurs mostly in the evening, so when I do an afternoon run, my body just does not have he energy to really push the workout as far as a cardio workout.
Anyways during the run, my legs started to feel heavy and I felt myself fade through the run. I was okay with that because I know this single run does not make or break me. Because I started to fade around mile 6, I knew that I just didn’t have it in me to mount up a strong 10, so I did what I needed to do and just finished up at mile 9. Again I was okay with this, I was not upset, I just wished I was able to go that other mile and really run from 6 through 10 at a good pace. Overall my time was decent, not good but also not poor. I averaged a 7:18 per mile pace.
Since it was about going with how I felt and what my body was signaling to me, I decided to push my Saturday scheduled Insanity workout is being pushed to Sunday. The workout for today is the Insanity Pure Cardio & Cardio Abs. Tomorrow will be another busy day, which prevented me from being able to run in the Sac Town 10. So I guess it is just a wait and see for what my workout actually is for Sunday, which is a scheduled cross training day on the “3+2” workout.
