Workout: 5 mile run and 30 minutes on the bike.
Today I tried running with hand weights for 5 miles. I really didn’t feel much of a difference but that is probably because they were only 1 pound weights in each hand. However when I did remove them I could tell that my shoulders did get a little of a workout because my arms had a lighter feeling to them. In any case I am going to try them out for a couple of months and see if it helps strengthen my shoulders especially on the longer runs. I have one year to get myself ready for the next CIM so I have some room to test and try new techniques. This last CIM I went to a 3+3 workout and found a good result. So let’s see what things make for me with some other additions and changes to my workouts in 2011.
