a new run
workout: 10 mile run.
Today was a new route for me as far as training is concerned. New faces, new groups, and just a new scene. Today was my first training run with a new group of runners, who I think will help me get to Boston. The route we ran was part of the American River Parkway 1/2 Marathon, so I have ran part of this stretch before but in a race, I really didn’t get to enjoy the scenery. This morning there were deer, rabbits, rain, wind, broken trees, and lots of puddles. But even with some of the casualties of mother nature it was still a great run. The distance for today was a distance that I just felt good with. It is the first “long” run since the CIM and my legs felt great, my body felt good, and mentally I felt strong. This is going to be a good 2011 training year and race year! I cannot wait for my first race in 2011 which will probably be a 4 mile race in February.
