Workout: 50 minutes cross training on the bike.
Well this morning I got my workout in (50 minutes on the bike) along with checking in for my 2 upcoming races. The first race I checked into was the Run to Feed the Hungry 10k, which is held on the morning of Thanksgiving. The race is probably one of the most highly participated runs in the Northern California area, all of the proceeds go to the the Sacramento Food Bank Services. I do not know one person who grew up or lived in Sacramento at some point in the life that has not either, walked, jogged or ran the Run To Feed the Hungry. The race features several different options for runners and walkers, timed and untimed. For me it is all about trying to see where I fair against some of the better runners in the area and to see where I fair against previous 10k runs. Again I will not be running with a watch as to just let my legs do the work. The run starts at 8.35 am Thursday morning, hopefully I will see many of you out there.
Now before the Thanksgiving run in Sacramento on Thursday. I did add another run to my 2010 race schedule, which was kind of last minute. Tomorrow morning I will be running in the Davis Turkey Trot. Rather than running my planned 5 mile training run, I thought I would just throw in a 10k race instead. As many of you know I would rather race any day than train! I think that is how most of you runners are out there, running amongst other enthusiast and health nuts over running alone for a training run. Tomorrow’s race starts at 9.00 am and there is pre-race registration available for those of you wanting to throw a run in last minute. The challenge tomorrow will be the rain, I hope that some rain can hold off just for the run, however at least the course is flat!!!! The last time I raced in the rain it was 2 weeks ago at the Apple Hill Harvest Run. And a mixture of wind, rain, and hills does not make for the most enjoyable run. It should be interesting to see how I measure up between the two 10k runs I have in a 5 day period, both no watches, both on flat course. I So I hope to see some of you tomorrow out in Davis.
