workout: 10 minute warm-up, 6 x 400 meters with 90 second rest intervals, a 2 minute 30 second rest interval then another 6 x 400 meters with 90 second rest intervals, finish with a 10 minute cool down.
Another speed workout thursday, putting the feet on the pavement and letting it go. The runs I have been doing are all flat roads, which should have me ready to go for this Sunday’s Urban Cow Half Marathon. The course there is all flat with a couple rolling hills that climb maybe 20 feet. I am just very much excited about the first half marathon I will be running without the watch. The last couple of 10k runs I have done without the watch has turned out well for me so this should be the same. With the heat kicking in over the last few days, I just need to hydrate until the race. However this weekend it looks like the weather will be fairly cool compared to the last 3 or 4 days here in Sacramento on race day.
