6 come and gone

workout: 6 mile run

It was a cool morning today compared to the last couple of mornings where it was already 70 degrees by 5.30 am. A good solid run with a steady pace, originally I wanted to run 7 miles today but my right leg felt a little tight, it started to loosen up around mile 3 but then still was bothering me through 5, so I did what was a smart thing and pulled back at mile 6. In the past I would have gutted out the final mile, but it isn’t worth suffering an injury that I could easily take care of by just stopping or pulling back if my body is not set to run all of the distance. I figure it is better to cut a run 1 mile than to miss 2 weeks of running because I wanted to push that extra mile.
