5 Weeks Out

Run: 6 miles @ 7.24 pace
Additional Workout: Insanity Rest Day

First, a Happy Father’s Day to all of you dads out there. Today was the final 6 mile loop (6 mile route), of the recovery week. The 6 miles completed today as promised in post early in the week was the exact same 6 miles put in the other three days of running.

There are exactly 5 weeks remaining until the SF Marathon on July 25, and the excitement is building up. I know this will be my 6th full marathon overall and first SF Marathon, but every marathon I have ran has always had an excitement to it. It always brings that joy of the race knowing that I have put all of this time and effort into the training but still brings some sort of mystery of the finish. This marathon also brings little more excitement as it will be my first full marathon in my Vibram Five Fingers, I have already competed in 4 half marathons in them (Davis Stampede, Shamrock’n, American River Parkway, Lodi Avenue of the Vines). So with 5 weeks left, here is what is remaining for the long run Sunday’s 18 miles, 20 miles, 20 miles and 8 miles before hitting the 26.2.
