Everyone athlete knows their worst nightmare while performing in muscle cramps during competition or training. Cramping is a painful at times and defiantly prevents us from training and performing at our best. When I was younger I was always told you need more potassium … which meant eat more bananas, but what if bananas are not your favorite type of fruit or if you have tried that and still nothing. There is something else that you might want to try it also is in a form of a fruit but rather than the fruit itself it is the water of the fruit. Young coconut water has more potassium than a banana. It also serves as a great recovery drink is it is helps replenish fluids lost. I have been drinking coconut water for about 2 years now and have consumed more coconut water than Gatorade. It is great because there are no extra sugars added, and for me it taste great. There are plenty of different brands out there but here are a couple that I use; O.N.E., Naked Juice, ZICO and Vita Coco. You can find most of them at Whole Foods Store, and I saw an advertisement for GNC that was recently promoting it as well.
