Today’s run brought me back to McKinley Park in Sacramento (course map). As I mentioned before this is a very easy and fun run especially for speed and tempo workouts. With the 1 mile loop around the entire park it makes it easy to pace yourself and know when to push harder or slow down. The running path with plenty of room to share with walkers, runners and joggers make it for a place to run a good time. The only down side is on days like today the pathway was a bit soft and mushy, since the path is made of dirt and gravel when there is rain out the day/night before certain spots get a bit soft. If your tired to doing speed / tempo workouts on a track I would recommend hitting the road / path at McKinley Park. This location may become a regular weekly speed / tempo run location for me.

I thought I would share this video from the New York Times.
